Annual survey of effective altruists

About the survey

An annual survey of the effective altruist community is run by .impact. It aims to reach as many people as possible (not aspiring to be a scientific exercise with a precise sample selection), providing a large amount of useful data that people across the community can use, and enabling applications like the EA Profiles and EA Donation Registry. The results will not belong to any one person or organisation, but be shared in anonymised form (with names and email addresses removed).

All questions are optional. Almost all are multiple choice, and the survey takes around 10 minutes. 2015 survey coming soon!

Results

The results and analysis were led by Peter Hurford, and can be found here. Peter can also provide the raw data (with names and email addresses), as promised. See also this cool tool that someone made off their own bat: http://pappubahry.com/misc/ea_survey/

Many people have chosen to make all or some of their answers public in EA Profiles which are available for browsing on this site, and also provide the basis for people's shared past and planned donations in the EA Donation Registry and their locations on the map of effective altruists, both on this site.
